Your browser's Geolocation API provides real-time position updates. TaxiMeter Pro uses the Haversine formula to calculate the exact distance traveled between each GPS fix, filtering out noise from GPS jitter under 5 meters.
The map is powered by OpenStreetMap and the Leaflet.js library. Your route is drawn on the map as a live polyline so you can see exactly where you have traveled throughout the ride.
Set your own base fare, per-kilometer rate, and per-minute rate. The fare is recalculated every second and displayed in large, easy-to-read digits both on the panel and on the live map badge.
When you stop the ride, a full breakdown receipt is generated showing the base fare, distance charge, time charge, total distance traveled, and total fare — all in one place.
All GPS data is processed locally in your browser. Your location is never sent to any server, stored in any database, or shared with any third party. The map tiles are fetched directly from OpenStreetMap's servers.
